They are different.

Silverado SS is viscous coupling transfer case.
The Trailblazer SS uses a Torsen T-3 Limited Slip Differential in the transfer case.
(I used to have a lot more information about this transfer case, however I cannot find it)

The cases are different in size and shape as well.

You could use the Trailblazer SS t-case in a full size truck, you would need custom drive shafts and possibly a different transmission to transfer case adapter.

wow that much different. so i just need a SSS case. i currently have the stock borg warner unit and i hate it. it uses the brakes to trasnfer power. and if you spin too much it will hold the brake until the next gear. thats why my times suck so bad. and why i felt i was loosing power and gain it back half track.

That seems more like a function of StabiliTrak than the transfer case (My Escalade does this as well). Either way I have a Borg Warner transfer case in my Escalade and I hate it. I will soon be switching to a NVG149 from a Silverado SS.

yeah its stabilitrac but that's how stabilitrac works is by hitting the brakes to transfer power. and if its stock it uses the electronic throttle body and pulls timing to retard power. even if you turn it "off" it will still use the brakes. mine happens to have 4lo which disables all of stabilitrac including brakes.
with the borg warner case if you launch hard like me the tire spins hard and the bcm will lock the brakes down on that tire. it won't let it let go it shifts gears. i have a vid of the front right tire coming just a touch off the ground.

either way i'm on the hunt for a np-149.
