I guess you could unplug the TCM and start the truck up, see what doesn't work!

The trans swap I'd like to see would be the new Corvette 6 speed auto with the paddle shifter steering wheel. I'd like a auto over the manual. The manual is more fun to drive but the auto is alot nicer to drive.

I'd like to be but I just picked my TBSS up last Saturday. I need to drive it a little how it is first. Maybe down the road a couple of years. I think it would be one hell of an undertaking though. Just to get the rear trans from the Vette to go into the truck would be bad enough let alone wire the thing up with the paddles. I would definatley be paying someone to be putting it in.

Picking up a T56 and a computer from a manual GTO would not be hard. You'd also need a clutch, clutch/brake pedal, clutch reservoir, custom driveshaft, remove auto transmission lines and possibly install an electric fan at that time.

Problem I'd see is the weight of the SS on the Stock T56. I'd definatly beef it up to handle the strain that would be put on it. Not to mention if any power is upgraded.

After it was done, you'd be in it for some coin but the ride on the freeway would be great not to mention the improved fuel mileage.

the SSR and TBSS are similar frames. ive seen a mock up of the T56 with a TBSS frame.

the OS from the SSR 6.0 T56 would be your best bet, pedals and all would work but would have some custom work going on
