Default Help on Pricing

looked at an SS today, I need to know if you guys think I am getting a decent deal. I looked at a 3SS 4WD TBSS with sun, sound and entertainment pkg (like $1850 option), Nav ($1750 option), and side curtain airbags ($495 option), for a MSRP of $40,945. I am trading my 02' Acura TL-S, all options but Nav, KBB around $7900 for "good" condition. I am in an area with the $4k cash allowance, so with the allowance + trade, they said $25K + tax and license.

I don't really want Nav, but there aren't alot of TBSS in silver in my area, and this is just kind of what I have to deal with. I had another offer on a TBSS that stickered for $38,500, that the dealer wanted $25,500 plus tax and license with my Acura as trade. So I thought this last deal was fairly good.

What would the wholesale price be on this level of options?
Do you think this is a fair deal or should I neg for more?

You guys got any thoughts?

your trade in sounds way low unless you have 200k miles on it. i just checked and an 02 tl-s loaded with 100k was 9300 in good condition for trade in.

As a comparison, I traded an '02 Dodge Dakota Sport, 4x4, 4.7L, for an '07 TBSS AWD 3SS, Sun & Sound, NAV, etc. listing for $41,200 and paid around 24k out of pocket. I got the 4k incentive plus another $500. the dealer found.

I wouldn't worry about what the actual number is for your trade, just the out-of-pocket number, but it seems to me that you should try to get another thousand or two off the $25,500 price.

If it is the one you want then like stated above. Get them as close to where you want it in price and leave, tell them to give you a call so you can think about it. That will either make them lower more on the spot or they will call in a day or two with a lower price.

Thats not a bad deal. If thats the tbss that you want, try and get as much as you can taken off of it. When we bought ours i had a number in my head and they told me the number that was the best number they could do then asked what i thought i told them they were off a lot and i said we were leaving,
they asked what i thought and i wrote it down on paper and told them if they want it sold it will leave today. the guy just laughed and said we have been waisting mine and his time there. He took it to the general manager and he came back with a shocked look on his face and they got with in $400 of the price i wrote down. we signed the papers and we are all happy.

Central KY. I live in BFE, so I have to drive a least an hour to go to a dealer that has one. I am a local business owner, so I try to help out my local community (ie local chevy dealer), but I told them I would try to buy from them as long as they were close on the deal. If they get smoked by another dealer, I told them I'd have to buy somewhere else.

The extra $500 discount is called conquest cash. If you have a valid registration off any other than GM vehicle, bring it with you and get $500 off! I just registered my brothers old Jeep, cast $96 saved me the $500, then I transferred the plates onto my TBSS and saved $70!! Anyway, with a $2500 trade I got mine for under 31K, with the exact build you are looking at (except mines blue). Hope this helps!!
