Did you purchase the truck used or new? I have heard of used car dealers slapping on a z71 decal to get a few more bucks.

Does G80 mean its a limited slip diff?
When I bought my truck I had the dealer print out the code sheet by VIN. I was able to compare 2 trucks by their options easily that way.
My truck has the Z71 package w/3.42 gears.

z71 package just adds bigger shocks, under carrage skid plates and it should come standard with the g-80. I don't think the electroninc 4x4 has anything to do with the z71 package. However if it's a good deal on the truck you could always buy it and throw a good locker in there and then you don't have to worry about the g-80 explodine down the road anyway...

Also I believe there is an rpo code for the z71 package that should be in the glove box if it is truley a z71. I bet you can guess what the code is ..

I didnt look in the glove box for a rpo code for z71. Just I know that on a GM sticker under the z71 package Limited slip has always been under their that I have seen. THis truck is 4x4 and has a z71 sticker just no g-80.

What is gt4? 3.73 or 3.42's?

For some reason, I remember hearing that you could get the Z-71 sticker without getting a real Z-71...

I'm sure a dealer would stick one on for a customer if they asked especially if it helped them get a sale.
