Default what offset and backspacing do i need

Hey guys. I would like to go with a 285/70-17 tire (32.8x11.50) tire. I am wandering how much backspacing and or offset I need to fit without cutting/trimming. currently running 285/50-20. factory tire was 275/55-20, I don't know why the previous owner went with a smaller tire. Im not a fan of 20's on a 4x4. So decided on some 17's. Local shop has new Procomp tires/wheels mounted and balanced for $1000 with the above tire size. Wheel is 0mm offset and 4.75 backspacing. Spec of truck are in signature. thanks.

285/55 is a lot bigger than 275/50. Do you have the aspect ratios backwards?

I'd run about a +20 in a 17x8 for that tire. To give you an idea the factory 20's are a +31 so you will have 11mm more offset than those.

Yes I did have the aspect ratios backwards. thanks for letting me know. ok so +20. and I forgot to add the rim is a 17x8.5 if that matters. now is offset and backspacing the same?

nevermind, little searching I figured it out. I would need a 5.5 inch backspace to be at +19 offset with a 8.5 inch wheel.

Well since I want an all black aluminum wheel my options are limited. Best ones ive found that I like are the XD Addicts 17x9 with +18 offset

After looking around I think that offset will be perfect. They will sit pretty flush with your fenders and be inside them just a hair.

I have 20x9 +1mm offset running 285/55/20 and they stick out a hair out with no rubbing. You'll be fine with + offset. You can check out customwheeloffset's website for pics of trucks with various wheels/offsets.
