Default What backspacing to set wheels flush with fender flares or .5" less?

I have no idea on what backspacing to get when I order my new wheels and dont really trust the local places to order them for me. Any help would be appreciated thanks a lot.

We need to know how wide of a wheel you are getting first. But here is an example if you buy a 8.5'' wheel then I would get 5'' of backset 9'' wheel I would get 5.5'' of backset. JMO Im sure others will chime in with more expert advice. I have a 20x9'' wheel on 5.5 in the pic below in sig.

What size wheel are you wanting to go with? 16x8 with 4.5" bs and a 285/75 will barely stick out of the fender.

Here's a basic rule of thumb. Run rims with a backspacing that is 3" OR LESS than the width of the rim.
Examples:
20x8.5=5.5" backspacing or more
20x9.5=6.5" backspacing or more
24x10=7" backspacing or more

This rule of thumb will make your life easier, especially if you end up going lower.
