Ya, you should be able to get away with a 35 with 18x9s and a 7" kit... I don't think that grey GMC had to trim to fit his setup.

But if you are dead set on lifting and you plan to leave it that way... another thing to consider is just going 10" right off the start. A PC 7" is going to run you from $1,400-$1,700 depending on what shocks you get and where you get it from... plus a 3" BL which I haven't really seen for under $400ish with all the bumper brackets and gap guards... so right there you are most likely looking at $2000+ for 10". A full throttle 10" could probably be had for around that same price and you won't have 3" of frame hanging out lol... just something to consider.

you said 18x9...what about a 20x9? i was looking at some wheels and i see -12 and -24 offset? if my math is right the -12 is the 4.5 backspacing?? RIGHT?

ya wheel diameter won't really play a factor... its width and offset that can get you in trouble. your math is correct... you would be fine with 20x9 (-12) and 35s.... -24 is 4.5" on a x10.

the 7" PC with 20x9s and 35s would look sick man. I def don't blame you for wanting a 35" tire with 20s... the thought of not having alot of sidewall and wheels that stick out passed my fenders scares me a little with curbs. Might have missed it, but what wheels are you thinking? I am a big fan of XD Badlands, these are 20x9s with Toyo mud 35s... sorry its a nnbs

Also, any plans to regear?

yeah i love the XD badlands too. not really looking for a certain wheel just something simple and clean. as for gears i already need a new transmission pretty soon so im going to order a performabuilt level 2 and i had planned on getting a circle D restalled TB stall(3000-3200) and planned on a tru trac and 4.10's. if i lift it i will more than likly keep it lifted. how would a stall in a lifted truck act? would 4.56's be better for the 35's? fuel economy isnt that big of an issue but i would like to keep it in the double didgits if i can.

Ya for 35s I would def go 4.56s+... I ran 4.10s in my Sierra with a 30" tall tire. Truetrac is a must! Look at Rons Machining Service and you can save yourself a little $ with buying one of his package deals. The gear will make up for you having a stall too, if I ever decide to put my 02' back together I will let you know exactly how that setup runs lol... I have a TR224 cam, SST3200 and the PC 7" kit

my turd as it sits

i have 35s, 2600 stall, and 4.56s

having a higher stall torque converter sucks offroad, but otherwise its great. the 4.56s definately help the 35s but since ive added the blower I feel like I have too much gear and 4.10s would be more appropriate.

I could def see the 4.56s being overkill with a power adder

ya be ready to drop $4.5k for lift, wheels, tires and rearend

also alot of guys like to shop around and try to get a good deal on wheels from one place, then another deal from tires from a different place... don't rule out trying places like 4wheelparts or NTW for everything as a package deal... tell them your gonna be dropping some decent money and to work on a price for ya. shop around ALOT and ask ALOT of questions bro
