Default Is there such a thing as a 4WD spindle lift

I always see just 2WD spindle kits. Is there such a thing as a spindle lift for 4x4's. I am currently lifted with ford keys and an add-a-leaf but would like to get a little higher. Is a drop crossmember style kit my only option? Thanks.

I put on a Rough country non torsion drop kit and it came with spindles.
Really nice kit but you cant use lifted keys with it. Pretty easy kit, took me and my dad about 10 hours total from pulling the truck in and pulling it out including time to trim the valance and get a decent line up on it.

Yes, there are a bunch of kits on the market, but most are referred to as knuckle lifts. Same thing though.

anything above 3" is going to require that you drop your front diff... if there is 1 that you dont have 2, i havent seen it personally..

I think he's just talking about just lift spindles like the 3" rough country spindles for 2wds... The answer is no..

Anything over what you have now is your gunna need a body lift or and susp lift that drops the diff and crossmembers

no you can not lift a 4x4 truck with spindles, some lift kits come with different spindles (knuckles)to mount the upper ball joint and upper control arm in the factory location and let the lower control arm hang lower but thats not whats doing the lifting. 2wd spindles can lift due to the fact that there is no CV shaft that has to come thru the spindle and connect to the hub which is connected to the wheel, 2wd lift spindles just lift the truck by lowering the spindle shaft down making the wheel mount lower on the spindle lifting the truck up. hope i did not losse you lol good luck!

correct. these kits are known as spindle lifts/knuckle lifts. lifts that do not retain factory spindles/knuckles are often referred to as full drop lifts. knuckle kits drop the lower control arm and use larger spindles to connect it to the upper control arm which remains in the factory location. a full drop kit uses the factory knuckle and drops both the upper and lower control arm. 6" knuckle kits generally only drop the diff. 4.5" where as full drop kits generally drop the diff. the entire amount like my 12" FTS drops the diff. the full 12"s. I beleive cognito makes somewhat of a hybrid with their 7-9" however i beleive its a full 7" drop on the diff. but also uses larger knuckles. each kit has advantages and disadvantages .
