Default Is this New True Trac Junk - clunk (Video)

So just got new Gears installed and set backlash to .007, pattern painted and got good pattern first try. The clunking from what I can see is from the worm gears inside the diff. With out axles in this thing made 0 noise and was happy with how everything was going..
In the video I have my back up to the tire and am just moving the yoke back and forth.
Anyone have any ideas. Thanks in advance

It would be if the ring gear wasn't turning.

Its not the ring and pinion, it is set at .007, I had that diff out 6 times to shim it. The ring gear is moving right with the yoke. I gave up on it tonight but in the morning Ill pull it back out and confirm 100% its not clunking from there.

I'd like to hear it without the axles in I guess.

Axles are first thing coming out tomorrow to test, Ill post a video of it

Search true trac clunk and tons of people have this problem. If this is normal I will not run this garbage.

Also thinking of it, this thing is only spinning one wheel, in the video my back is holding the other wheel. One time I turned it and the opposite wheel went in the opposite direction like an open rear end.

I should have stayed with auburn

ok axle shafts out and still makes clunk noise but no play in ring and pinion. with just axles in there is alot of play in the side gears (spider) I have no clue why this thing has so much play.

should I send back and exchange? maybe im over looking something

It just sounds like the ring and pinion to me but I'm not there to play with it. Call Eaton and ask them if the helicoil gears are ever loud inside there units

You realize with the axles out, the helicoil gears inside the posi don't move at all. When you turn the yoke, the only thing spinning is the carrier housing but nothing inside the posi.
