Need experts on offset, bs, & tire size
 

Ok, after looking at some of my older pics with my 33x12.5x17s, I came to the conclusion, I need smaller tires. I also started the following thread, https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=452277 when I was trying to fit the 33s. But a 33.x12.5x17 has TOO MUCH side wall for my taste this time.

So my question to the experts is this, I would love the width I had, but with smaller sidewalls. What Size am I really looking for? I called looking for some 305/60-65/17s but are unable to find that size.

The truck is a 2001 Chevy Tahoe. 2wd, It has 265/70/16s on it now.... I dont plan to lift or lower the truck. The Tbars are already maxed to level, I will post a pic bellow. I want a wider tire, and slightly taller sidewall to fill the wheel well up just some. But not as much sidewall as my 33/12.5/17s had, but same width. Is 32x12.5x17 even a option tire? And available?

The RIM in question is a black Crager soft8 17x9 it has 5" backspacing in size 17x9, not sure of the offset either. But I need to know a exact offset and backspacing to shoot for. Reason is that I want my tires to stay tucked under the fender or come flush or maybe .5 inches max. The sidewall must be a little bigger than my current 265/70/16 or close, Im mostly concerned with width. That being said 285 look like pizza cutters to me.

Mickey thompson makes a 305/65/17 in the atz and its listed as 32.6 tall and the section width is 12.2"...
Here is a pic of mine with the 285's i had on it,and i thought they were to wide lol...What tires did you have on it before??

If you want the width, but in a 32, try a 305/70R16. I know you're looking at 17 in wheels, but check it out anyway.

try 295/70R17

Your gonna need a wheel with an offset close to 0 or even negative (-) so that it pushes the tire outward. The problem with stock wheels is that they have a + offset pushing the tire/wheel inside of the vehicle. So when you get wider tires, it will rub inside of the frame/wheel well/a-arm which is what happened to mine

mine come out of the body about 1" which isnt bad, and i think it looks good. besides, you can always get a set of fender flares

TOO MUCH sidewall for my taste. I am not lifting my truck, I want it the same height, with wide tires, and a near stock height sidewalls. If they only made a 305/60/17 or equivalent.
