Put 706 heads on the 6.0, do a 220/224 .660/.600 112 cam and call it a day. Tune on 91 and be done with it

heads an cam is more doable than engine swap I'm a driveway bolton Guy.I want easy don't want to change reluckter wheels ecu ect. I haven't even removed the doghouse yet. it's a bit involved I mite have to remove the front seat.
I have observed #1 cylinders front most header bolt broken so there's proballey more broken header bolts proballey losing some power. can cylinder #1s header bolt (an others) be extracted w/ engine still in van?
please post link to a decent extractor bit, I'm thinking I'll need a 90 degree drill.

don't get me wronge this heavey van isn't a complete slach, I've been babying it bc of fuel prices just comparing it to the 1500 it seams real slow.

the 220-224 660-600 112 is this a heavey truck cam an is this three bolts or one?
when you say tune to 91 octane doe's this mean milled heads that are higher compression than stock 706 heads?
what power an torque can be expected w/ this setup? thanks

Tuning for 91 will let you get the most out it regardless. The factory tune is safe on 87 for the HD trucks, and it leaves a lot to be desired....

You could get stock bore balanced stroker kit: https://www.summitracing.com/search/...-in%3a4-000-in

The extra cubes and cylinder volume means you could keep the stock 317 heads and still get a bump in compression ratio.

Couple that with a SUM-8728R1 camshaft 212/218 110+3. Should pull pretty hard from 2k+.

I agree.. I've done some 10.5CR 383s with a 212/218 cam motion cut for it and they make very good torque down low under 2500 rpms.

did I just hear blower whine while it was reved?
+ it's the larger magnason 2300 so we know it fits just how much butchering it took. I believe my 04 has room even more wiggle room.

still considering tbss intake,862 heads, truck cam 212-218,91 octane tune

what would realy be funny is taken off like that while towing
yeah and it would be the easiest basicely a intake manifold swap pulley some intercooling plumbing tune done. stock cam/317.

van has 116K miles proballey all expressway. doe's any parts need replaceing or made stronger before a maggie swap?

the express's exhaust manifold have the same part# as the trucks. however speed engineering won't confirm they fit the van. I believe the vans frame is differnt from trucks weird they have same PN.

I've read on another forum they fit on 1987 G20 van which is a differnt van but similar.
