they are more for axle wrap than traction right?
Great fab work, is there a way you can get us part#'s on what you used?

There really aren't any part numbers, because we made everything from raw steel...and then just go to a performance or suspension shop, and buy your heim joints, misalignment spacers, jam nuts, weld-in bungs. You'll need RH thread for the front side, and LH thread for the back side. This allows you to set the preload to help with initial takeoff. (This really will help people who go to the track..it's been said that these can shave off about .1 sec in the 1/4 mile.)

So, to answer your question, they help with axle wrap, wheel hop, and yes..it does help taking off quicker because there is no slop in the rearend.

I don't think it matters a ton the exact length, so long as the front part of the bar is welded on after the leaf springs so it can get the leverage. My bars are about the same size as the commercially-available traction bars.

Looks great. I did a very similiar thing on an S10 I had back in 02. I used the front leaf spring mount, and the lower shock mount for mounting points. Worked great for stopping axle wrap, and wheel hop.
