Default Built some custom double-heimed traction bars

First off, thanks to my friend Colton for spending about 7 hours with me working on these traction bars for my truck. Colton was the fabricator, welder, and brains behind everything. I was able to get my hands dirty and help with some of the cutting, grinding, and drilling, but no doubt this project belongs to Colton! Thanks again buddy.

Let me give some details on the traction bars. I bought teflon-lined 3/4" heims (28,000 pound rating) for the front and rear. I also bought misalignment spacers, jam nuts, weld-in threaded bungs and 4 stainless steel 1/2" bolts, washers, and nylon-insert lock nuts. The rear parts use left-hand threads heims, bungs, and jam nuts, and the front uses right-hand threaded heims, bungs, and jam nuts. I also bought replacement u-bolt plates so my truck didn't have any down time during the fabrication. We then bought the plate steel and steel bars for the fabrication. Unlike the PRG bars for sale, I used heim joints on the front and rear so the preload can be adjusted, and to allow for greater adjustment and suspension movement. Everything is custom-built from scratch, except the u-bolt plate, which we modified and welded on the reinforced tabs for the heim joints.

By the way, the heim joints we used have the following specs:
Chromoly Teflon Kevlar male rod end.

We were gonna gusset it, but we didn't think it needed it. We cut a full inch into the spring plate and slid the tabs into it, then welded them up..so it has up and down reinforcement and side to side reinforcement from that too.

not bad man. You get the heims/tube adapters from ballistic fabrication? Yours look pretty familiar. I used ballistic's stuff for the dune buggy's 4-link/a-arms. Also, I really hope you used a RH on one end and a LH on the other end of the link lol. Nice lookin Titan

I got them from QS Components.

And, of course, I used RH on the front and LH on the back! Gotta be able to adjust the preload, that was the whole reason I used dual heims instead of bushings in the rear like the other ones sold for the Titan. The axle side I used left-hand bungs, heims, and jam nuts, and the frame side I used the right-hand bungs. When I adjust the preload, you can actually see it moving the rear up. Once they are done drying from the paint, I'm gonna put them back on, and tinker with the preload again.

Thanks, me too.

It's my favorite pic of my truck..but it was before my bullbar and Hella Black Magic lights. I might have to go out there again sometime and get another pic.
