If my 2500HD gets supercharged, axle wrap/wheel hop may become a problem so it should probably get some type of traction aid (bars).
I'm liking the offroad style single bar, like this. Welds to the axle tube near center and can follow driveshaft angle fairly closely.
The other more common option is 2 bars, at each end of the axle off the spring perches or around that area, like these.
So what are pros/cons?
I don't really like the look of the 2 bars, they hang lower than the frame, whereas the single bar can be tucked up into the frame area and seems to do the same job? The only con I see about the single bar is it is taking up valuable space inboard where the exhaust goes. So I have to decide which way to go before I redo my exhaust, as I can route around the single bar if I install it first.
I doubt I will be doing crazy off roading with this truck, more of a hauler/tow rig that should be daily drivable.
I ran dual bars on my dodge diesel for close to a decade. Never an issue towing or driving around or launching or anything. I did go crawling with them one time and I think the suspension inhibited flex more than they did.
