Help guys. I been research. Not sure if I'm doing right. Since my truck is 2006. So the 4l60e is 2006 so from that neutral safety switch to 2000 4l80e on my 06 Silverado. So it will work or have to do something with neutral safety switch. Let me know thanks.

Your stock one will work my truck was a 06 and trans installed is a 01 just took the old one off and replaced it with mine...

 

Great. One question I haven't pour trans fluid in new tranny. Haven't crank up since heads are off right now. I nocited when I shift to park it does move roll truck. Had to put emergency park brake. Is something wrong with transmisison or need fluids pour in?

 

Do you have the driveshaft it?

 

Yes driveshaft is on. But haven't pour fluids or crank up yet

 

Found it was set reverse. Shift linkage was fall off. The bracket no good. I have to order. I push park. It's locked no rolling truck. Now I have problem for trans dipstick nowhere bolt the dipstick bracket. Cause the 80e model is 2000. Can you help me what to do with dipstick.

 

Do you have a Silverado/Sierra 4l80e specific dipstick tube? Dipstick tubes from other models probably won't fit right. You can't reuse the 60e tube because the 80 has a bigger bell housing so the tube is formed different. There should be a Transmission-to-engine stud, and the dipstick rests on and a nut snugging it on. The tube just slides into the rubber seal on the case and bolts to the stud. All my trans to engine bolts were studs, yours aren't? You could probably just loosen the bolt and put the dipstick slot behind it and tighten it back down, same principle just no stud.



You can see in this picture, it bolts to the stud/bolt right above the dowel pin hole in the bellhousing.


I always install them while putting the trans in place so much easier, but they can be installed once in and all bolted up, it just takes some patience. I recall going from the top, and angle it all crazy to get it down in and turning it to the right, and having the passengers side inner fender out to help guide it with the other hand.
