Default LS Lifter Holding Tool

So what I'm looking for is if someone makes this lifter holding tool anymore? I know ThunderRacing use to have a nice one but they are not around anymore...I know everyone uses wooden dowels, magnets, and so forth...I'm looking for ones like ThunderRacing had, I do enough cam swaps that I want something dependable. TIA

I bet if you call Geoff at EPS, he may have exactly what you're looking for. He was the co-founder of TR, and for all we know he may have been the designer of that tool.

Thank you Stew! I didn't even think of Geoff, I used to use him for all my cams until he got super busy back in the day. Then I moved over to Cam Motion. I will give him a holler tomorrow. Appreciate it bud!

Thank you for the help! I do not want to use dowels as stated earlier, I know they can be used and the sizes, just prefer the metal fabbed ones. But I appreciate it!

Talked with Geoff and they do not have those tools anymore...He said a local machine shop made them to their spec's, but they are not in the automotive business anymore...Any other ideas?

make your own. why are you so against the wooden dowel rods? I would think the softer wood would be easier on the block/lifters. personally, I've never used any tools to keep lifters up...spin the cam over and let the lifters catch in the trays and slide the cam out never had a problem.

Any hardware store will have 5/16" mild steel dowel stock. I purchased 2 36" sections from Home Depot and cut them down just shy of 22". Beveled the edges and welded little stopper plates to them from scrap I had laying around the shop. Lubed them up and worked like a charm. Used them 5 times since without issue. Cost maybe $10 bucks and 20 minutes of my time.

As for using the dowels... the second I decided not to, I'd drop a lifter. Cheap insurance and my time is worth much more than the cost of the dowels.
