Cool, I'll get a new one tomorrow hopefully. Should have changed it but oh well...all its gonna cost me is 2 cans of refrigerant and another hour and a half or so.
As for the low and high connections, I just wanted to be sure, most of the sites I looked at said the low side would be on the suction side of the compressor and the high side would be on the discharge side. Obviously this is different.

If I remember correctly, mine was slightly higher on the high side than the chart showed and required more refrigerant then Chevy called for to get it working correctly.

Got it done again today. When I took apart the two tube halves to get the orifice valve out, the aluminum nut stripped out, so I had to buy a whole new line for $80
Anyway, 80 degrees out, low side pressure is about 46-47, high side is about 325. Quite a bit higher than the chart, but it's putting out 48 degree air, so I guess that's fine? I also figured out that the cheap Napa vent thermometer than I bought reads high by about 8 degrees, so the temp I saw last time was actually about the same as now.
