Jake.. we'll see you out there.

1Bear 03-12-2010 11:12 PM

Maybe a few of you will get lucky and see my boy Colby make a few passes in his S-10. It's packing a twin turbocharged Brad Anderson headed Hemi with a Bruno trans!
:burnout:

Wheatley 03-13-2010 01:55 AM

Bear.. we saw Colby and that ride was bad-ass. There were some impressive rides.. great weather, and a great day. I enjoyed myself.

03 True Fire 03-14-2010 11:31 AM

haha my buddy colby ran really good!! fastest truck all day!, i wanted to see his denali run too but didnt take it up there. yesterday was a real good turnout! met a few people from here out there

lady3bglover 03-14-2010 12:18 PM

It's nice when you can put a face to the truck. Though it wasn't tough for you to find me... seems that more than a few knew who I was. I thing there was only one other female driver out there, but I never saw her make a pass. I put 4 in on my own and handed the keys to Flaco's nephew Alex and he could only pull 1 1/10 of a second better. Just like most, I get better times in the cooler weather.

Atop of that, being the truck's best time was in the cold on the 20's (13.765). Yesterday it was learning about reducing air compression to get the tires grip better. I wasn't running the 20's, but a pair the Flaco gave to me a long time ago, and I managed to keep them in decent shape to run maybe another time or two. Maybe by the late fall I should have some slicks, but with renovations to the house going on....you know.

v8 03-14-2010 12:30 PM

Glad you had fun lisa, I got a call about my old truck out there, they said he took off the cowl hood lol

I imagined it would be, yeah it's got a bed and all, but it's hard to think of that thing as being a truck. As far as the Denali goes, he told me that he was just about to get it out of the body shop, the result of some vengeful bast_ _d beating it up.:bang: At least Colby told me the police have him!

Kevin.. then it was your truck... I knew it was missing something. Sorry you couldn't make it up.

lady3bglover 03-14-2010 01:25 PM

Oh, there was something else that I forgot to add. We put 109 Octane in, and a considerable diff from 93.

montecarloss 03-14-2010 02:03 PM

any videos lisa and what time did you run?

tommy1005 03-14-2010 07:10 PM

It was a good time out there for sure.....I finally broke into the 13's on 4 out of 5 passes, the one that wasn't was a 14.02, the best run was 13.82 @ 98.15

At least with the kinda money he spends on toys, it should make you feel good knowing who he trusts to tune his street truck!:D

The truck's best is 13.765 (October '08), and that was on the 20's. This time I was using heavier tires, ones that were given to me, and heavier than the 20's. Just used them instead of the dailies. Eric even mentioned at the end of the day to try the 20's to see if it was that much of difference, but by then I was worn the hell out. So during the course of the day I was learning about compression in the tires. Tough learn, but it was worth it. Was I a little disappointed, yeah. Eric and I have invested a good amount of money in my truck, and for this truck as a daily driver.. I'm ok.

A friend told me, just wait till the time is right to go 6.0 Ls3. By the time that happens I should have a better understanding of it all.

I have to admit with the smaller venue in Sealy, seeing under the hoods of other trucks came a little easier. Oh and video.. I do have one of my ass getting spanked by the older Lightning with the STS turbo. I said, "great I get to race a guy with a helmet", not even thinking about what he was driving or the power plant.

It typically runs mid 4's in the 1/8th right now. It was originally built to be a 10.5 Outlaw, which in my mind sort of screwed it up a little. The chassis was originally a Pro Stock truck chassis, but due to the 10.5 rules it had to have stock front frame rails and firewall, so they had to cut off the front of the tube chassis. Maybe with enough dialing in, one of these day's he may get it to around 4.3 or a little under. It's got the power, but putting it down is something else all together.

lady3bglover 03-14-2010 09:01 PM

Monte.. thanks for comps.

The 4.8 is off his regular times, but I imagine the 7.6 was already way off the throttle as it's not set up to run out that far.

After talking to him, he said he shut it down 3 something seconds into the run and crossed the line at only 120mph. I don't recall the exact numbers, but the data recorder would have it.

SILVERBIRCH 03-15-2010 10:28 AM
