cory my builder told me with a lift you would need 11'6" to clear for the vehicle so you can work under the vehicle, I went with 14' walls, hope this helps,

I have a friend with a shop and only 10' walls and its doable just have to close the garage door and have a stool to work under the car/truck.

Good luck and congrates.

Cool, thanks for the info, i was kinda wondering that... but i doubt i will be able to swing a lift... I know i don't wnat a normal garage door, i want a roll up one instead of the normal one that rides on the tracks.. I have no idea what it is called, but my father has one in his shop.

Instead of a lift, how about a tunnel underneath like some mechanics shops haha

sounds good, but do u really want all the noise from your tools being heard inside the house? a nice seperate shop would be nicer to work at... thats just my .02
but i wouldnt mind having a 5 car garage either!

My house is 1950sqft and its just me till the fall after the wedding its just an older 50's house that needs updating...
not to mention the concrete/steel 3 car carport, 20x30 concrete/screened/covered patio, and the big shop out back... All on 8 1/2 acres...
