I seem to remember you mentioning being a fireman a time or two before. Sounds to me like that's what you really want to do. I would keep doing what you're doing and go to EMT school.

Terracon, basically Im the owners rep on site to make sure the contractor is building his building right. I only inspect the structural side of the building.

Yeah its been something Ive wanted to do for a long time, its just been hard to give up on the career I have now. I make good money, have good bosses, manage myself as long as I dont screw up I dont have to deal with my bosses, decent hours and I enjoy what I do. But, I think Ive finally come to the realization its not what I truly want to do.

FWIW, I was in a similar situation about two years ago. I was in management for a pretty large company. I had 20-30 people working for me, made decent money, and my bosses were awesome. I got off at 4:00pm on Fridays, had weekends and holidays off and I was next in line for the group supervisor position. Basically I had it made but it wasn't what I really wanted to do. Long story short, I left that job to become a cop. I don't make a ton of money and I work nights, weekends, and holidays but I love what I'm doing now.
