This summer if your ever in the Dallas area i wouldn't mind showing you a thing or two. I've got a miller 180 mig, 200amp miller tig, stick, plasma, oxy-acetylene . I can PM my contact info if you want. i don't always check pt.net frequently.

Ive got a Lincoln Ranger portable machine that I use around here, I TIG, MIG, and stick off of it... I've also got an old lincoln "crackerbox" 220v stick machine I learned on... and a little portable Hobart 110v, its good for little quick projects since its so portable. You can run the damn thing off an extension cord LOL...
I've been welding since I was a kid and just really started getting back into it a few years ago, Its not that hard, you just have to know how to "chase the puddle"
I could show you whatever you wanted to know if youre ever out my way.

i bought a millermatic dvi2 about a year ago and bought the spoolgun for aluminum for it and have welded,bumpers,rollbars,done 4 links..works good..as long as u can set the machine right u can pretty much weld anything up to like 3/8" thick

scratch starting worked fine, but welding blind or in tight spots, the box makes it nice.
