I got up this morning to take off to work and went to start up the good ole truck and I got nothing. My lights and everything turn on and the radio all kick on. But when I turn the key to start it, the exhaust goes and makes a short or partial rumble and then it doesn't start.

Sorry if it doesn't sound like a perfect description but if you can shot me a response or some ideas, cause I can't get the truck out of the driveway.

 

Does it sound like it turns over for about a second or two and then shuts off? What is the status of the security telltale on the dash when you crank it?

 

yea it sounds like it trys to turn over for a second and then it gives up I guess you could say. And then while I have the key turned it isn't making the clicking sound like when I guess your battery is dead.

I really didn't look at it. It was yellow and I think just said security like always until it starts. I have to look at that after work now.

 

Do you hear the fuel pump whine for 2 seconds when you turn the key to on without starting it?

 

fuel filter ever been swapped ?
