Default Wiring a Temp/Compass Mirror

How hard would it be to wire up a compass/temp rear view mirror out of a 00 silverado to my 99 silverado which doesnt have the compass/temp mirror already

on that im pretty sure youll have to buy something aftermarket unless you could find a wiring harness out of a junk truck for it. im not sure how they wire up though. ill do some research for you

Thanks man thats sweet looking, I'll be checking into that mirror. Only thing is, is i dont have an overhead console yet but i will be installing the console with weekend.

Here's a shot of mine the day I installed it, it's a Gentek that's auto-dimming w/ outside temp and compass. Installation is a piece of cake and I really like the auto-dimming feature since I have a sliding rear window and it can be pretty blinding when some douche drives up behind me with they're brights on or wannabe HID's and I have the window open.

They're also available with map lights, but my factory mini overhead console already has em.

Yea the console that i am gonna try and install this weekend has the map lights and the little pocket just like yours. So i wouldnt need the map lights on the mirror. I like the Gentex and i dont know what to pick..lol

I also have the sliding rear window so dimming mirror is a must for me also.
