Default wiring guru's i need help!!!

i recently performed a cab and bed swap on my 81 chevy swb c10.
i went with a 86 cab and bed.

the wiring is almost identical, but of course there were noticeable changes in the trucks throughout those years.

i need some help and info trying to get this motor and cab wired up properly.

i have pics to help and i will try to describe them the best i can

now this plug in this photo actually plugged into a port on my 81 cab a couple of inches away from the brake booster nearest to the driverside valve cover....what is it and can i do without it?

next up is a plug that is on a 2 prong sensor just above the oil filter. i have read its the oil sending sensor (turns oil light on at dash) once again the motor i just got is blocked off and doesnt have this. is it safe to remove and do without?

I would not want to do without some kind of oil sending unit to a gauge or a light. Without one, you'll ruin the motor before you realize you have no oil pressure if the oil pump goes out.

That's all I've got as far as any of the wiring goes, I used to have an 88, but alas, it's a completely different creature than an 81 or 86.

yes! that is actually your oil pressure sensor. Not a signal light switch for low oil pressure u need to keep that. As for the other wiring i wouldnt even worry with it. Finish everything else up and if u thin think u need it try to figure it out. Im pretty sure u dont need it tho.

what is the sensor type thing that is right near the distributor that runs to the cluster for then? im confused.

i had a friend of mine big joe with a prostreet c10 tell me today that it is actually used for the dummy light on the cluster. i check my oil daily and very **** about it so i dont really see the use in the dummy light. and i also am running aftermarket gauges before i put the other 350 in.

also there is a plug that looks identical to a trailer light plug that comes out the firewall on the left hand side of the dizzy... and clue as to what those are as well?

sorry if im asking alot of questions but i want to clean up the wiring and such and repair what the other hack job did
