I dont know if you mean you screwed it right into the sheet metal but you dont want to do that if you can avoid it. It gives the amp more than one ground point and you really only want one.

Just a quick question, how exactly do you get the back seat all apart and what not. I just have my amps laying on the floor and I wanna get them mounted to the back wall and try and clean up all the wires. thanks.

There are five nuts holding the back seat in. Two on each side and one in the center that bolts the middle cable to the floor. It's easiest to undo all the bolts first, then pull the cable off the center post and fold it up somewhere out of the way (it is a PITA for some reason). Then all you have to do is lift the seat up enough to get the small tabs on the back to release from the back wall, then up and out. It's not bad at all....definitely can be done by one person although two would help.

I assume the bottom of the back seat has to come off as well?

The seat is one piece - the whole thing comes out together.

Here is what I got. 2-1200.1 Kcker amps and 2 SL712 from Kicker. My seat fits fine with everything. If you cut the latches on the back of the seat a little bit(just under the last hole if you haven't raised your seat), it will fold forward if you want it to when you push the seat up. I mounted it there and say they stick out about 4 inches with the rack.

One last question...

How would you go about screwing a piece of wood onto the back wall. Are there things that come out or something to screw into besides the back wall itself. I dont wanna have screws poking on the back of truck lol.

You could make a bracket to hold up an amp rack. That way you would have holes through the floor and not the back wall. On mine, I have them going into the part that sticks out a little bit on top so it doesn't go through the wall. I only have 4 that go through the wall but you can't even see them that much.

I used industrial strength Velcro, it's held up for over 2 years. 14 strips, 1.5 or 2 ft each. No holes =
