You still need to listen to mine sometime corey!

but IMO

Within a reasonable price range...
Focal
MB quart
Infinity (as long as its the kappa series)
Kicker KS or SS components
Polk audio (they have a wide frequency range)
Alpine makes great subs, amps, and radios but i dont like their speakers...

Been doin systems since i was 15, iv'e heard the good and bad, also installed the good and bad.

When it comes down to it in the end, remember, It's YOUR truck... and its up to you

You need to learn to stay away from 8" subs

JL Audio; Morel; Dynaudio; Focal

I have a friend with four sets of JL Audio ZR 6.5" components in his F250 and its just insane! two sets in each door fiberglassed in. So far the best set of moble audio speakers I have heard. Out of the ones listed JL is my favorite. They just seem to have the best all around product range and price ranges. Their mids and highs may be a little more expensive but they are worth the price!

8in subs are efficiant and put out good sound! He isn't trying to bass the damn roof off scott, Just wants some good clean sound.
My next set up will blow most 10s out of the water, and i can hide the the 8in subs ALOT easier!

Stop hating on 8's

The JL 8W3V2 I had was garbage. 8" subs are weak, especially when you can get a 10" that uses a similar sized box and can handle much more power. Not to mention has a larger frequency range.

not all 8" subs are weak, some good numbers can be put up with an 8" sub.

Maybe a DD8 or a W7 8"

A 10" is definitely a much more versatile speaker

I don't know much about speakers, but I like Infinity...with that being said, I have Rockford Fosgate in the doors and Pioneer in the pillars of my truck, since they were on sale and cheap Some day, when I've done every other mod that I can do, 100 years from now, I'll get a system and some Infinity's. My Basslink is made by Infinity though.

10" may require more power and or space, there are many good 8's that can be louder than a 10", even tho the 10" will have a larger Sd.
There was even competition done called Crazy 8's, where guys were reaching 145+ db with 8's.

I agree between the two, given ample room and power, I'd even choose the 10", but 8's do pretty well.
