Weird fuel gauge?

Weird fuel gauge?
I've got a 97ish Yukon and the fuel gauge acts funny. When you floor it the gauge will go up, and when you push the breaks it goes all the way down to E and stays until you floor it again. Any ideas on how to fix this?
