Viper 791

you might need a i think its called vtas? bypass module that overrides something. im not real sure of the system you will be puttin on but you may or may not need this. I recently had the Audiovox Informer APS-996A installed on my truck and love it, however i had to have this bypass module. Also be prepared for lots of relays to have all the features used. Almost everyone needs a relay.

DEI 555L. Its the Passlock bypass module. Newer trucks dont use VATS, they use PasslockII. The alarm really isnt hard to install. Vipers relay satellite has 4 relays hooked together. Plus there is an extra for the starter kill. I had a kick *** install guide I bought for 3 dollars off eBay when I did my Viper 550ESP. It was the most detailed thing I had ever seen. Made my install pretty painless. I spent 2 days on it, took my time. Payed off, the alarms been in for 2 years and still works the way it should. Plus I highly recommend you solder everything. Especially the bypass module wires. Which are yellow and black at the trucks column. They have to pass a resistance value off to the trucks body control module. You dont want a high resistance crimp or scotch lock on there for that. On the door locks, no external relay setup is needed. Just hook the alarms output trigger to the wires in the drivers side kick panel and your good to go. On the door triggers I cant really remember what I hooked that up at. But I did have to diode isolate each door. I ran into problems with the spot I used the first time around. For the tach sense, I hooked up to the purple wire behind the instrument cluster. I think it was purple... I didnt want to run any more wires through the firewall to the PCM like the guide mentioned. The default run time on a Viper alarm is like 25 minutes or some crap. I turned mine up to an hour with the valet switch.
