Nice job F8L.. I love Diamond stuff.. wish I could get employee cost on it but for now Ill have to stick to using CDT Audio and US Amps.. I really like that deck you are using but I want the 8455 because I cant live without my Sirius.. Elitecaraudio is the forum when it comes to caraudio.. Hopefully I can get some money saved up so I can work on my setup. Make sure to post plenty of pictures on the install!

EyeP, I'll have to check out those forums and that RAAMmat should I need more deadening material.

As for the tweeters I'm not sure what they are. I am assuming silk because anyone that would spend $1400 for a set of mids/highs insn't going to be interested in the "sizzling bacon" sound as i call it. They are going to want smooth transitions and not that ultra bright sound so characteristic of aluminum dome tweets. I talked with Coop at Diamond about the speakers but I didn't go into real detail because I figured I couldn't afford them. Once the order sheet came in and I saw the price it was kind of a no brainer. My mids are should have came in today as they were 1 day behind my subs and D9 amp which showed up yesterday.

You'll have to let us now how your speaker placment ends up. I was decnetly happy with just using the Time Alignment feature on my Eclipse deck but I'd much rather have correct placement than have to rely on circuitry to do the work since we all know that usually leads to at least a small amount of degredation.

I would check on your tweeter. I wouldnt be surprised if they offered both silk and Al/ Ti. Are you goin to mount the tweet in the A-Pillar or next to the mid?

I have not even touched the TA on my processor yet. That will be the very last thing I will do- if at all.

Your setup is going to sound really nice I think.

I currently have the tweeter in the stock locaiton which in my truck is right next to the mid. When I do this install I'll be using some gorrilla snot to hold the tweeter in plkace and move it around a bit and see what other options I have. Otherwise it's going back into the door panel.

On the D9s they don't offer different tweeter options. On the Hex series they have always had an option but until this year even the M6 stuff only had aluminum domes.

Poor Grippy went through hell with his big stereo install

F8L awesome system you've got going on there. I posted my new install on Chevy Truck World. It consisted of:
Clarion DRZ9255 (phenomenal) http://www.clarion.com/usa/products/...s/DRZ9255.html
(2)JL 10W3's http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/w3.html
In the front doors they were able to put (2) Dynaudio MW 60 7" and (1) MD 100 1.1" tweeter http://www.dynaudio.de/eng/mobile/2way/240mk2.htm
(2) Lunar L100 amps http://www.lunaramplifiers.com/mainindex.html
(1) Lunar L60 amp
Used Dynomat extreme on entire cab. (doors, bottom, behind backseat, top)
The most impressive was putting the Dynomat on top under the headliner. We banged on the top of the truck with the headliner off and it sounded like a 55 gal drum. After Dynomat you can beat on the cab and it's just a muffled sound now. Amazing difference.
Here's a link to some of the pics of the install http://chevytruckworld.tenmagazines....sp?album=15071

I agree that with a 200 amp alt you won't need a cap...I have a 200 amp alt, 3 amps with 2400 watts rms and unless I have the volume turned up enough to make the amps clip I never see the voltage drop from 14.2, even at idle. I think a cap would be a waste of money in your case.

And for forums, sounddomain.com forums are a waste of time IMO, there are a few good threads by a few knowledgeable people, but most of them are noobs who ask the same damn questions over and over again. I used to be on the Rockford Fosgate forum, it was a good place with a lot of knowledgeable people and they didn't censor hardly anything...people could talk about whatever brands they wanted, could voice their opinions on the quality of Rockford stuff, good or bad, whatever. Now they don't allow discussion of other brands and the mods edit a lot of posts...the forums are dead compared to what they used to be.

F8L I will keep you updated on the status, will be looking for your specs on the fax tomorrow.

JDG, I'll check out your setup sounds pretty good. I've never heard of Lunar amps though? Also good to hear Dynamating the roof helped as much as I hoped it would. I'll definately be doing that.

Thunder550, Sounds like instead of buying more caps I'll just keep the 2 I have and call it good. I'll get those specs over to ya as soon as I can. Which means as soon as I get to work. LOL

I put a full radius on entry and exits of the ports. I can't hear any port noise. This was one of the hardest box I have built to get the air space and ported at 30.5 HZ.
