Default Strange windshield wiper problem

2005 truck. When I do anything to turn on the windshield wipers (mist, washer, low intermittent setting), they come on like I put them on standard speed with no intermittent. They will stay this way even if I turn them off.

The only way I've gotten them to turn off is either shut the ignition off when they are all the way down (if I turn it off when they are part way up, as soon as I turn the truck back on they will start going again), or to pull the windshield washer relay from the underhood fusebox.

With the windshield washer relay out, I can still get the wipers to work using the Mist setting, or the full on setting. If I choose any of the intermittent settings, the wipers go once and never again.

One thing that just came to mind....this is on my d-max swap truck where I have all 2005 electronics in a 1999 body/frame. The one thing I didn't swap over was the wiper motor. So I have a 2005 control system plugged into a 1999 wiper motor. The plug fit, but I'm wondering if they operate differently. Anyone know, or have any other ideas?

Maybe a relay is backwards? I had a similar problem at work and found the relay was in backwards

Just read that again, does the wiper circuit go thru the bcm?

I've dealt with this before Chris. You need the 2005 wiper motor.
