Question Stock Speakers

I have 2004 Chevy Silverado Excab LS. I am wanting to changeing my stock speakers but i dont know what size they are to buy replacements. If any one knows pass the knowledge. Also ive heard i could have a 4 or 6 speaker system. I know i dont have the Bose system cause I dont have the tweeter in the A-pillers. So how do i know which system i have and what sizes? Help...

you have 6 speakers, the doors have a 6.5 inch speaker and a seperate tweeter mounted above, the rear doors have 4x6s. go to crutchfields website, they have a stock fit directory, good luck

yea 6 but you cant find a replacement for the tweeter (unless you cut it out a 3" will fit in there pretty nicely) also 5.25s are a easy fit in the rear

Man I had a stereo shop guy talk me into just adding a quality amp and woofer box to my stock 2000 silverado and keep the stock speakers. I thought he was full of BS, but man he was right. The stock speakers are good components, but do not have enough power going to them to make them perform as they should.

I have spent a ton of $$$ on sound systems and it doesn't take a ton of $$ if you do it right and match the proper components.
