Default Stinger STG-GMK318RPDDBv2

Hey everyone, looking to get some input:

I’m planning on installing a Stinger 6.8" Double-DIN radio kit (plug-and-play) in my 2008 Silverado. Has anyone here used this specific setup before?

A few questions I’m trying to get answers to:
  • How difficult/hassle-free was the install? Did the plug-and-play stuff really work without modification?
  • How’s the quality? Noise, sound output, any rattling?
  • Are there specials or better alternatives that you’d recommend (for similar price / features)?
Why I want to buy:
  • Steering Wheel Control Ready: Effortless control with SWI-RC compatibility — I want to keep steering wheel audio/phone controls working. Has anyone used the SWI-RC adapter with this kit? Any mapping or button issues to watch for?
  • Camera Inputs: The unit advertises camera inputs — I plan to hook up a backup camera. Does the kit provide a proper reverse trigger and clean video input?
Any of your thoughts, experiences, or warnings would be super appreciated — especially from folks who’ve kept their steering wheel controls and cameras functional after installing this head unit. Thanks!
