The Victim: 03 Silverado LS 4x4 extended cab pickup

The IDEA: Truck has power mirrors that are heated. Drivers side mirror was sheered off while parked on the streets of NYC.

Want to replace the mirrors with the turn signals in them. Have been getting mixed results as to:

A: Yes it can be done & the truck has the wiring in place already to do this "Mod."

B: NO it cannot be done cause the "trim level of the truck" doesn't have the wiring in there & I would have to wire it all up seperately.


Suggestion help to get this underway & completed would by awesome.

Hate driving it with duct tape holding the glass in place.

 

Yes, it will work. Ive always been told as long as there is power running to the mirror it will run everything but power fold and i think puddle lamps. Signals are ran with power adjust and heat.

 

I'm curious about this as well. I honestly haven't researched the subject but people that are doing this swap have peaked my interest. I'd love to convert my '01 from just a power to power/signal or power/heated/signal. Not really converted about folding.

 

03 is plug and go the signals will work instantly. The power fold may work it's hit and miss. If it doesn't then you need to take it to a dealer and the power fold option can be selected when the DDM and the PDMmodules are reflashed.

YOU don't have to replace the DDM just flash it and it will work minus the yellow back lighting on the fold button.


FOR 02 back you gotta hardwire the turnsignals and forget about the power fold it ain't happening.

yes it will work, plug and play. I did the same mod in my 03 extended cab. as long as it has a window switch in side, and not manual windows. If you want them to powerfold, then you have to have the powerfolding window switch, and have the BCM flashed to a vehicle that did have them

 

my truck is an 07 classic but i had power mirrors only, no turns or heat. upgraded to the HD tow mirrors with power, heat, and signals. simple plug and play.
