i think that the d max trucks have two batterys, so i think that you can add one to the passenger side firewall area

It is an option with GM. I'd say you could vist the dealer and get all the hardware including the cables from them.

I went to the dealer and got a second battery tray, It was about 30 bucks..... When i was about to get the new battery i did some reading and found out that if your old one is older than 1 year old you need to replace it and it needs to be the same kind.. Maybe i am wrong so i went with the deep cycle batteries. I ran mine right beside the altenator where you have the red box that says battery i ran mine to there. And yes when the motor is running they are both being charged when i am listening to music just one battery is on untill it is drained then the other kicks in.. I will see if i can find the site where i got the info......

All the parts you need are accessible from Gm to make it plug and play. They sell the isolator relay, cables, tray, and nuts. The way the factory sets it up is that the isolator relay only connects the batteries when the ignition is in run. It uses a plug(2 pin m/p) right next to the a/c pressure switch. This is nice if you want an aux battery for aux connections, but will not assist when starting.
Part Numbers:
15705102 Support Bracket for Aux battery(Replaces brace by coolant)
356668 Battery Clamp
12135194 Relay
15321214 Cable, pos to relay
15321259 Cable, starter to relay
15321207 Cable, neg
21021808 Nut, metric bag of 10
I have a couple of write ups on the issue including really good photos if needed.

I am currently wiring mine for Aux battery, dual alt, and aux fuse/relay block. I want to be able to have two seperate electrical systems for off road lights, air comp, interior accessories, and such without interfering with stock system. I finally have everything I need, so after vacation I am hoping to get everything installed.
