.with the sub and that much power a ported would sound good but won't be as loud as a sealed box. what you'll have to do though is see if there is enough room for a ported box as they require more air space. you may have to get very creative here. I got a l5 with a 800.2 amp in a ported box. the amp way over powers the sub in the box but I only listen to it at lower level's so it's not a problem. it sounds way better then a sealed box I had before.

it depends on what type of bass you want to hear. Do you want I nice tight hard bass? or on that goes on forever? If you want tight (what I like) I would go with sealed. And if you like the other go with the other.

L7 = Ported, I would keep it tuned to 32htz.

Sealed and L7 don't belong together- I ran 2 L715" for 4 months, kickers ported specs are pretty good but I did notice better results tuning to a lower freqencey...

I agree, I had an L7 on my truck in sealed box and itsounded just alright. I built a ported box for it and it became alive. Ported all the way.

Ummm ported will always be louder than sealed if it is done right, but the bass won't be as tight or clean sounding. I have ported subs in my truck and the majority of the time they sound great, but every once in awhile I have a song that for some reason the bass just sounds like crap...it's in the way the song was recorded. Overall though, I love my ported box. Ported has my vote.

yes a ported box will be louder than a sealed one and the bass won't be as tight in a ported box.As for the kicker i pretty sure they are designed for a seald box.I say go with a sealed box. Tighter and cleaner bass.

Thunder is correct...

A ported box is great if you can make the box large enough to support a sub 35Hz tune freq. because any music below the tuned freq. will need to be cut off with a subsonic filter or you risk damaging the speaker. At the very least you'll have no real bass below that freq. and it will just make stupid sounds. LOL

One thing to keep in mind is that you will oten have port noise so make sure to use a slotted port design as opposed to the round cardboard ports and round off all the edges of the port. Lastly try and point the port in the opposite direction of your seating area to cut down on the noise.

BTW, hows my box coming along? LOL I'm in no rush bro. My truck now needs to be completely repainted after the "falling tree" incident.

Ha it's still exactly the same as the pic I sent you. I was in San Diego for the 4th last weekend, moving/working this weekend and all week. I've had a couple other small projects that I've had to take care of too. I think this week will be pretty busy, but hopefully next week I will have some time to get more done. That sucks about your truck!
