I just started to get into audio stuff and I got some RF dor speakers. I have always liked their stuff. Does anyone have issues with them? Eventually I would like to get a full system with 2 10" P2's, how many watts would my amp have to be to power these... im not lookin for competition sound just something to impress my friends with and also what is a good BASIC head unt thats not too expensive?

 

ooohh, they can bump. anything can bump. take a look at this cut away of one of their subs and see what you think of their quality control.

let's see, they were #1 20 years ago. then, they lost their engineers that made them that way, then they went "main stream" and even turned "public", having stock holders. now where do you think they want to concentrate...... making $ for their stock holders or making a superb product for you?

(hint.... look how much voice coil is below the top plate vs above the top plate. it should be equal)

 

infinity has the best mids and kicker has some great subs

man! i had a fosgate amp to go with those subs too. i just sold em yesterday. its a 801s amp 2400 watts

 

Please dont buy P2's for the money you can get a way better sub. I like rocford door speakers and there amps are pretty good too but dont like the punch subs at all

There are much better mids than Infinity also. Infinity was real big with the the military people in my area because they bought the crap at the BX fro cheap.

Honestly there are some great brands out there but they are not usually sold in chain stores.

The amplifier actually only makes about 800 watts (rated power) 2400 watts is for those people trying to compare to companies like audiobahn and it's also used as a sales technique for best buy since those guys don't know their *** from a hole in the wall. In my opinion of course.
