Remote start, dash lights stay on (also brake wire question)
Installed a remote start/alarm on my Silverado.
When I remote start it and then shut it down with the remote the dash lights all stay on until the door is open. Anyway to fix this? I don't want to have to go out there every time I decide I'm not leaving in a few minutes in order to open the door to turn the lights off!
Also, the wire going to the brake switch is not working properly. I have the (+) wire from the brake pedal (white wire) going to the remote start interface, which is also looking for a (+) signal when brake is pressed, but it does nothing at all (it is suppose to turn the vehicle off is you remote start it and push the brake without having the key in the ignition)
thanks

Dang has no one installed a remote start successfully on a Silverado?
also, the "factory disarm" all the schematics are saying that it is the light green wire in the drivers side door. Is there another wire I can tap into instead of having to thread a wire all the way into the door up to where the door lock controls are?

That's the factory RAP (Retained Accessory Power) system doing it's job. No way around that unless you disable RAP. After 10 minutes everything should shut off on it's own.
No idea about the brake wire...do your brake lights work? Could be that the wire broke or came out of the brake switch plug?
