Default redoing subs/amp

Well my amp fried and the guy that originally wanted $100 for repairs has taken a closer look and wants $250 (both power supplies are blown as well as output transistors) so instead it is off to ebay to be sold as a broken POS.

The amp i had was overkill for my setup anyway. I have two diyma 12's in small sealed boxes (.85 cu ft each). what you guys think for an amp? I'm looking at something budget so either cheap stuff or used stuff. Or maybe just throw an rms wattage range i should look for.

Other option is to sell the subs and small boxes and buy somethin more fitting to my tastes (loud, deep, and able to handle double bass) but I don't have much money to spend on a brand new set up so it's basically whatever I can sell everything else for. Space constraints are limited to underneath my back bench and amp mounted to back wall.

diyma says:

Maximum thermal powerhandling: 1000 watts with typical music

but I have heard people raise the BS flag on this one. I was wondering if anyone else knew for sure.

That will probably take me out of my price range. I'm going to try to limit myself to $200 plus whatever I can sell my stuff for: so if i replace my subs i can sell my Diymas. I'm not sure what my fried amp will get, maybe $100. And my boxes might get me $4 haha.

only as loud as their rms rating will allow....obviously a sub that takes 1000watts rms is going to be louder than a 400 watt rms sub....so it depends on your def. of loud but give them the power they are rated at and it will be as loud as they will get.....
