Default rear speakers

Has anyone heard of putting 5x7 speakers in the rear of a 2000 chevy silverado extended cab(3 door) in place of the factory 4x6? If so, is there any major "cutting" or anything like that? I was told by a local stereo shop that it can be done. Thanks
