Default odometer on 2000 Yukon out

i have a 2000 Yukon (new style) that the odometer/drive gear indicator doesn't work. Is this common?? It use to come back on intermittantly when you tapped the glass, but not anymore. Can this be fixed with a cluster swap? I'm guessing so. Also does it matter what mileage the replacement cluster had?? I had thought the computer kept track of the mileage, not the cluster.
Last question would be...does anyone have one for sale cheap?? The truck is under full warranty, but I would rather just swap it myself if I can find one reasonably priced.
Thanks for all your help!

For less then $200 shipped ebay has denali clusters.

For less then $250 shipped there are Escalade slusters.

Most of these ebay dealers can update your mileage to whatever you want for a small fee (<$50)

If it's under warranty, your best off going to the dealer, seriously.

thats what a warranty is for.

today on the way home from school i my 01 yukon the fuel guage went to
E and the fuel light came on, then it jumped back to full tank. i'm about to research and buy a tune/edit/etc package for my laptop so i can fix this crap like my security light and no kyless entry problem, since i'm going to need a program for the TA anyway.
