odb2 on stereo?

If you have an Iphone, Get a pioneer with App Mode, like avh-8500bhs IIRC. Then you need hdmi cable, another lightning cable, and an Apple HDMI to lightning adapter. Once that's all hooked up you would have to buy an ELM327, download dash command app, and it will display on the dash.

Either way I was hoping for something that was a little more plug and play straight from the obd2 port to the radio. I might give one of those options a try down the road if I think I can figure it all out. I'm not very techie.

There are head units that do what MikeD suggested with Android phones (Look for MirrorLink). Another option would be to get an Android based head unit and use an ELM327 adapter. I have seen the Android head units but iirc they were not cost effective nor very good on the audio specs. Of course, there is the very custom option of using a tablet molded into the dash along with a good D/A converter and external amplifiers for the sound system.

Yeah everything I saw that I thought might work comes out to more money than I want to spend right now. I just had a turbo installed on my truck and I need to recoup some money, not to mention I need tires and there's also a few things I still need to iron out with the turbo setup before I'm happy with it. Maybe down the road it will be cheaper to do also.
