Diggin' up a month old thread...my Basslink crapped out on me today dammit It fired up for a few seconds, then just stopped working. The connections are all good and the power's on. If I had the cash I'd get another one or the one that Bradazz has, but I'm broke. If I got the same one, I wouldn't have to re-wire it

ive had about 4 out of ten either not work at all, or actually make smoke when first fired up after install. i think they' garbage, if you get one that doesnt blow up immediately, you're lucky.

Now mine fires up for a second after it senses the signal from the speakers, then the bottom drops out (literally lol)

Sorry to hear this, If you got one like mine you wouldn't have to re-wire. I am 95% sure that it would use the same connections (RCA's, Remote Wire, Power & Ground) as the Basslink you currently have. Good Luck.

Thanks for the info...I checked Crutchfield's website and that model has been discontinued So I just ordered a new one on ebay, like the one I already have. I was very happy with my first one, aside from it taking a poop.

Just an update...I installed my replacement today, and the new one is smoked right out of the box Wiring is good, it fires up, just no thump. Needless to say, I'm pissed...hope this isn't an ongoing thing...

I'm a putz....

I should know by now to properly diagnose something before I order a part (must have been getting cocky...) Anyway, my amp is fine, but there's an open circuit in the power supply to it. I checked for voltage at the amp and there was only 7 volts, went under the hood and wiggled the power supply and voltage went up to 12, then down to 3. Turns out there's a bad connection in the fuse holder. Looks like I'll be installing a Basslink into my wife's Toyota Matrix soon
