Default How do I wire in a homelink in my overhead console?

I have a 2000 z71 Silverado. Its loaded with everything except a sunroof and homelink. I found a homelink controller in the yard out of a Bravada. I was unable to unplug so I had to clip it. It has 3 wires.
Orange
Purple w/ a yellow stripe
Green
I know that the orange should be power ,but what are the other two and where do they go?

Thanks for your help.

I bought one off eBay for my truck. It just needs 12 volts, and ground, which should already be there for your map lights. You will need to add a wire for the backlighting to work.

What color were your wires. How did you wire it in? I dont want to fry it before I get to use it.

IIRC, you'll have a 2 wire harness already there. It will plug right in and the homelink will work, and so will the map lights. But your new overhead will have a 3 wire harness. The brown/white wire will be the extra wire, and that is the one for the backlighting. Wire it to your parking lamps.
