Default Electrical issues

This isn't really a performance problem but having some trouble with some electronics in my truck and was wondering if anyone had something similar happen. Truck is a 2002 Tahoe Z71. What happened was while I was driving the truck the fog lights turned themselves off and no longer turn on and the radio clock display came on bright and no longer dims. The rest of the dash lights dim and the rest of the driving, headlights are fine. I checked the fog light fuse, it's good. Haven't hooked a meter up to the relay yet. I am assuming they are related since it all happened at the same time. Is there a fuse, ground or Relay that connects the fog lights to the radio clock display? any help would be greatly appreciated.

My fog lights quit working awhile back and I ended up having to replace the headlight switch. Your radio display also controls the dimming of the clock light, so that would be my first thought. Do you have another vehicle you can try a headlight switch out of to test it?

No, but the switch was off the whole time, never moved. It happened while the auto headlights were on.

That's how mine went too. It has to do with the dimmer if I remember correctly. I rarely ever use the manual headlight switch. Can't speak to the clock dimmer though, I have an aftermarket deck. I just know that both are related to that dimmer switch. If you have a buddy or coworker or something with a 99-02 full size maybe you can convince them to let you try their switch and see if that fixes it. Or can you buy one and return it if it doesn't fix the problem??
