Default Component Upgrade

I need your input. I sold my 22s and now have a modest $500 to upgrade my component speaker set up. I went to Car Toys to see what they had and I really, really like the sound of the higher end Focals component speakers. I think they were the ‘Polyglass’ series. I can live with the $350, but I can't justify the $150 for the installation.

I told my wife that I want to save the $150 and get the Dynamat Xtreme door kit and some much better wires for the speakers.

My head unit, the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD, has a MOSFET 50x4 built in.

I want to keep it all stock looking while sounding as good as they can off the head unit alone. I think the power from the HU, dynamat, better wires, will make the sound I'm looking for.

Am I on the right path with this set-up? Is the dynamat worth the hassle for this simple layout? Is trying to upgrade the wiring from in the door worth it?

Thanks for any input!
