Default Checking mileage on old cluster!!??

Is there any possible way to check the mileage on an old cluster other than putting it in a truck?? I want to see what is actually on my old 99's cluster and I dont have a truck to put it in. Anybody know the pinout on the plug? Maybe give it 12volts and see if the mileage will show up for me?
