Default cd player install and speaker replacement

im getting a new cd player and speakers tomorrow. i was just wondering if there are any tips or pitfalls i should look out for? any special installation info i may need toknow. i used to do this kid of stuff back in the day. but its been a while so. any tips ot info. go ahead and drop it here. thanks in advance.

Alpine makes a really good head unit. If you are going to get it professionally done, give Custom Car Stereo in Houston a call; they are the best, hands down. Last time I was there, they were working on a CLK63 Black edition, Ferrari 430 and new Turbo.

03 and newer trucks have a screw holding the window and door lock switch panel from the bottom on the inside so pull the door panel off then uplug the windows and locks, some models have a screw behind the plastic door lock slide and you will have to use self taping screws for the new speakers because our factory speakers are held in by a big clip.....other than that is is pretty much straight forward. the radio should be fairly simple if you have the correct harness just wire it up and plug it in....

thanks guys. what size are the speakers in the back doors on an 05 crewcab? is it 6.5 or 5inch.

6.5 inch same as the front. good luck with the install.....

well come to find out. the harness i had was the wrong one. i got it installed at best buy in the woodlands. im glad its finally done. i just need to get the correct size speakers for the back door and voila!! thats it! its alot louder now. i cant wait for the others in the back.

cool deal, glad it worked out for ya......yeah you had to have the harness with the black box in it i bet since it is an 05.....should sound tons better with the speakers in it!
