Anyone try to convert the external cassette player to rca's or 1/8 cable for ipod output to stock radio?

 

You could always just get a car kit. Might look kinda janky and not sound as good but it would work.

 

I think you can just wire in a line converter to convert the system to rca outputs, but with an ipod it'd probably be easier to get an FM modulator wired into your antenna.

 

I have a 2000 Ext.Cab with console truck that I installed an IPOD, hard wired to my stock HU. I also upgraded my speakers to Infinity Comps. It sounds fantastic. I have the equalizer in the stock stereo and the IPOD to increase the base. I now have a system that has 5,000 songs which I play by artist or shuffle between songs with crystal clear sound- better than playing a CD in the Stock HU. I removed the cassette slave unit and purchase a audio axilary input adapter for $75. I connected this to the harness going to the cassette unit. I plugged the IPOD wires fron an IPOD Dock which I bolted to the center console to the axilary input adapter. Then I wired the dock to the fuse box for battery power.
