Default anyone ever wire an alarm without a test probe?

waitin on my buddy from FLA to send up a K9 mundow to put in my truck ((can't wait to finally have keyless entry!!!)) anyway i've put alarms in before...just always had a test probe to throw 12 volts to the wire to see what it does under power...up here i do not have a test probe...i mean it's not a huge deal to have one for my truck but it would help...anyone ever put an alarm in without one? should i just use my test light & turn the feature on (ie. signal or headlights) & see if the test light comes on?

use a volt meter instead, and not the dial type the digital kind.

or you could get a schematic and eliminate most of the guess work though it would still be nice to have a test device in the case there is more than one wire the same color. Keyless in these trucks is pretty straight forward though, one relay and two diodes if I remember right.

well i do have a directtechs account so i'll have the schematics i just don't always trust those & i'd rather have a tester

EDIT: and yea it should be 2 relays one for drivers side one for pass side but i don't think there should be any diodes necessary....and actually since i've got an RST & it was a W/T i'm pretty sure i don't even need the relays

mmmm.....what year is it? On my 02 I needed a diode with a different resistor for each door lock. Maybe it is different on the 03+ i dunno. Good luck with it.
