Default Almost $200!!!

Remember when yellow tops were $110-$120? I needed a battery for my Tahoe yesterday and figured the decent traditional battery was $90 and I have a small system, air ride, and the DVD player in the truck so I needed a king **** battery. I had been considering adding a second battery for the extra reserve anyhow and since I needed a new one why not get the best.

I will be getting some wire loom on the support bar this weekend because it is less the 2 inches from the top posts. I am going to move my amp power feed to the top post also. Let the battery take the punishment and not the alt. as much. Right now I have it connected at the "power center" where the battery wire and alt wire meet. Not excited about shelling out over $180 for a battey but I guess it is the world we live in.

yeah....all that product placement on PowerblockTV & Gearz & all that nonsense have driven the price up....it's ridiculous....if you catch them at the right timing though most of the part stores will put them on clearance when the batteries have sat on the shelf for quite some time and you can get them for like $60

Yep its rediculous how much they cost.

The red tops are JUNK!!!!!!

Yellow tops are good but pricey.

I used to have great luck with the red tops but not any more.

I just buy Interstate batteries, they are still high quality.

Hell even Delco batteries suck now.

i think the older optima batteries is what everyone is basing opinions about. if yours is 7-8 years old i would consider it one of the old ones that just wont die. we're talking about the newer ones. complete JUNK IMO.

I've had a yellow top in my truck for the past year. No problems so far.

Someone on another forum said that after a few years if the battery isn't holding charge well, to drop it on the ground a few times. It will waken it up and it will be like new. Supposedly the plates get a build up on them and the slamming removes the build up, allowing the gell to work properly again.

I had never heard it but it does make sence.

I wish I woulda known that. I just traded in my delco yesterday. I don't know if it was from 99 but it was in the truck early 06 when I got the truck and it finally died. I played it all day till it wouldn't even play the radio anymore multiple times. It was like the energizer bunny. And I bought a cheapy to replace it cuz I didn't have the money for a good one. 2 year free replacement! It'll be shot year 3. That's my luck...
